Lunch with the Tiger Moths. Luskintyre. Held on the first Saturday of each month (except January), you'll see a large selection of DH-82A Tiger Moths in flying condition, and many others under restoration. Check out the aviation memorabilia in the Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum - a small but interesting collection of aviation bits and pieces. Aug 16-17, 2008 — Luskintyre, NSW.
Amateur Radio Remembrance Day Contest. Luskintyre. A special event Amateur Radio Station will operate from Luskintyre Airfield for the annual Remembrance Day Contest. The contest commemorates Radio Amateurs who died during World War II and is intended to encourage friendly participation and help improve the operating skills of participants. It is held as close to August 15, the date on which hostilities ceased in the southwest Pacific area. Radio Amateurs in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea are the only stations able to participate in this event, and stations operate on HF bands 1.8 to 30MHz and on VHF bands 50MHz and above. This is a 24hr around the clock contest commencing at 6pm Saturday and finishing 6pm Sunday. Sausage sandwiches and steak sandwiches will be available for participants and visitors on Saturday lunch and dinner, Sunday breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum will be open for the duration of the contest weekend. Guided museum tours will operate both days at 1pm. Aviators and Radio Amateurs are most welcome to visit. Luskintyre Christmas Party. Luskintyre. The biggest event of our year when aviators, builders, neighbours and friends come together for a relaxed and casual afternoon and night. The action starts mid-afternoon when the Tiger Moths will be flying, followed by a BBQ and Christmas Party in the hangar. This event is organised by Ray Windred of rag and tube fame. By invitation. AAAA National Toy Run. Luskintyre. Combined event with Lunch with the Tiger Moths. Charity Event - All aviators are welcome to fly in for the day and enjoy a BBQ lunch. Everyone who attends is asked to bring a childrens toy to be donated to Charity. We all get so much enjoyment from our flying this is our chance to give a little bit back.
